Anonymous asked: I've heard that lots of korean girls get plastic surgery. Why is that so?

I think in Korea, the “ideal type of beauty” is having fair skin, a tall nose bridge, a small face and also double eyelids - the Western “type”, if you know what I mean.
As you might know, the majority of Koreans are not born with these physical features. Many Koreans achieve these looks through plastic surgery to fit into the “standards of beauty”. Maybe you already saw Korean women who got plastic surgery who, in some way, all look the same?
I heard that Korean students receive plastic surgery as “gift” from their parents as soon as they graduate, because Koreans know that a good “appearance” increases the chance of being accepted into a certain company, because the physical appearance is a really important factor in Korea. And since Seoul is the capital of plastic surgery, many people use this advantage of enhancing their beauty.
Another reason is that plastic surery is seen as normal in Korea, in contrast to the Western countries, where natural beauty is emphasized and plastic surgery more or less critisized.
Many Korean idols receive plastic surgery, because pretty and handsome idols basically “sell” better and I also heard that companies sometimes force/convince their trainees to have plastic surgery. It’s just that K-pop also strongly focuses on looks, because, they are “idols” and also indirectly encourage the younger generation to look good as well.
These are just things I know and I heard of. I, personally, accept plastic surgery, but I prefer natural beauty - since you should appreciate the body you were born into, no matter what. Your body is something unique and special, and you should never forget this. ♡
